Qualifications
I have run a successful preschool business in Kill Devil Hills for 16 years. Working with children on a daily basis is the ultimate exercise in multi tasking.

I have been on the board of Surfrider Foundation, Outer Banks (a non-profit committed to protecting our coast and waterways) for 14 years. In that time I have met with local, state and federal leaders to work to protect our coast from offshore exploration and drilling and seismic testing. This experience has taught me the importance of connecting with other leaders and networking.

Since serving on the current Board of Commissioners I have served as a board member of the Dare County Tourism Board where I have served on the Steering Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Grants Committee.

I have worked hard to educate myself on matters of planning, finance, recreation, safety, and attended trainings through the UNC School of Government. I am steadfast in finding answers to issues that arise and problem solve with staff, citizens and other board members.

I am committed to serving our citizens. I am willing to listen, meet with citizens, and try new ideas for the betterment of our town. I am open minded, I like to do research when I'm unfamiliar with something.
